"Frau Wahn posiert auf dem Cover als Terror Queen of Slash, aber innen erheben Oswin Cerwinski & Jürgen Eberhard warnend den Zeigefinger - ‚Obsession ist Scheiße‘. Was tun, wenn ‚Weltseele und Gotteslob‘ von einer ‚Schimpansenbar‘ in die nächste taumeln? Unfähig zu ‚Tiefer Scham‘, lacht die schnöde Seele und lobt den Herrn mit Schafgeblöke. Oder ist alles ganz anders? Die Stücke springen einem mit dem Arsch ins Gesicht, mit Affengekecker oder Hotlineanmache, aber auf solche Ausrufezeichen folgen dunkle Drones, die, wie verschämt auch immer, eine grüblerische Ernsthaftigkeit vermuten lassen, die sich als Angelhaken ins Gemüt bohrt, wenn man auf den Köder angebissen hat. Geht da die trübe alte Tante Kulturkritik auf Seelenfang? Dunkles Feedback grollt, Geißelschläge gerben das Fell, Affenkäfige werden umgeschmiedet zu Lanzen und Äxten. ADV is exclusively using analogous measuring instruments of the domain of medical technology, electronical engineering or wireless communication. Such signal generators as well as tape machines were an existential apparatus for the early electronic music in the 1950s.
ADV uses those as live-electronics for synthesizing rhythm and sound. Traditional magnetic tape serves as data carrier for these compositions.

’Low-guitar-code’- to begin at the end-explores guitar samples through the optics of different filters, and thereby sketches the spatial and temporal refractions, as well as the different spectral reflections that the material emit in the light of the repeated, microscopic analysis. ‘11'33"’, in comparison, explores a species of corpuscular sounds that live close to the edge of noise and repeatedly break into the composition when the acoustic camera crosses the line between noise and sound.
In contrast to this studio work, in his live performances Schreiner uses a reduced equipment, forgoing computers, samplers and other sound-reproducing tools. The setup consists essentially of a virtual analogue sound generator that is controlled by internal sequencers as well as directly, i.e., manually, through regulators. An analogue filter, a delay and a mixer are then added to this supposed core as peripherals. But on the one hand their output is partially fed back into the sound generator and on the other hand these elements lose the character of mere subordinated sound processing tools by self-oscillation, feedback and saturation effects.
In so doing, Schreiner allows the established sequential orders to interact on a chance basis, whereby an unstable game between controlled and chaotically self-organised parameters develops in which new situations of switches between comprehensible and incomprehensible orders continually arise. Particularly in the case of rhythm, expansions of something one can just about hear as rhythmical, often develop. The musical tension in this basic material is further charged through the synchronicity of extremes - extremely loud and soft, high and low, fast and slow, extremes that - analogous to the limits of the rhythmic - further exhaust the range of other musical parameters and shape a music that oscillates in the realm of the physically audible, thereby drawing images of movements that we hear."

Thomas Beck and Jan Iwers found the soundproject "Freie Hand" in the spring of 1998. Their nonmusic describe through concret tones and noises, abstract electronic and biological undancable rhythms. Computer are not used. The main intercourse is the spontaneous communication of the tones and the interaction of the two performer. bco: " moisture is based on our 2001 trip to europe. while rob and russ helped record the base tracks, the recordings here come from live recordings at the zack club in bremen and radio 100. in amsterdam.(the night of sept 11th.) the remaining bits were taken from phil, nina and das playing in our camper on the river banks in nijmegen. and the obligitory sound effects (tracks 8-27) consist of the channel ferry, a tesco in northampton, and under a bridge in nijmegen."
